Fundación Las Fuertes: comprehensive menstrual education
Half the world menstruates,
but talking about menstruation still takes a world of effort.

For years, silence, misinformation and lack of knowledge have reinforced customs, walls and barriers that hide the violence and discrimination many girls face as they grow up.
Such a natural topic, ignored for so long: why talk about it now?
The dignity and rights of girls and adolescents are like seawater: they never expire. At Las Fuertes, we set sail on a mission with no turning back, guided by a unique educational map that breaks down those walls and barriers.

Welcome to Las Fuertes
from Isla Fuerte, Colombia
A space where comprehensive menstrual education becomes a tool for transformation. Here, we walk alongside girls and adolescents as they learn to understand their cycles and live them with freedom and confidence.

Comprehensive menstrual education as a map for change
From that attentive listening and the desire to turn the tide, CME was born: our Comprehensive Menstrual Education program.
A living proposal, woven from experience on Isla Fuerte and other territories across Colombia, which taught us that menstrual education alone is not enough: we need a broad, holistic vision that allows every girl to inhabit her body with freedom and pride.
How we came to understand it:

Comprehensive menstrual education needs a committed crew to steer change
Turn your money into collective action. More valuable than any investment because it takes us to new destinations while deepening our impact.
Every contribution creates a wave... and your sustained support helps it travel farther, shaping currents of change and new opportunities.

How we turn our educational map into a route toward conscious, holistic development

This is what impactin action looks like
7 territories now growing stronger
From Isla Fuerte, carrying waves of change across Colombia.
550 girls, teenagers and women in workshops
Together we filled a pool of about 802 m² learning about ourselves.
Understanding of menstruation as a natural cycle went from 45% to 95%
Now they see clearly what was always there.
More than 50 eco-products delivered for menstrual care
Cutting at least 6 kg of waste per user every year.
8 out of 10 know themselves better after the workshops
Las Fuertes has 5 stars
Who we are
We are a reef of women, volunteers and allies growing from Bogotá toward Colombia's forgotten territories. We build spaces where knowledge of the body is not whispered but shared, where comprehensive menstrual education is not a luxury but a right. And where every adolescent finds her own voice to navigate her life with clarity, confidence and freedom.
